THE FAIRFIELD METRO TRAIN STATION
The Fairfield Metro train station on the Fairfield/Black Rock border opened on December 5, 2011. The station has 1,400 parking spaces and has express trains for Grand Central Station and Stamford. A feasibility study is underway for a pedestrian bridge from Fox Street to the new train station, which would provide easy access for Black Rock residents. There is still plenty of day parking available. Eventually there will a apartment/retail/office complex on the site. Most of Black Rock is located within a one mile radius of the new train station.
