Fayerweather Towers is a mid-rise condominium building with one of the best water views in Fairfield County and is direct waterfront. It is also Black Rock’s only doorman building. It also has two elevators.
The building has six floors with a total of 57 units. The water-facing side of the building has two-bedroom units with fabulous views of Black Rock Harbor, the Fayerweather Lighthouse, and Long Island Sound. Black Rock Harbor is active year round, but in the summer the continual show of sailboats passing by is relaxing and exhilarating.
There are 8 two-bedroom units on each floor from the 2nd through 5th floor. The 4 corner units are slightly smaller in square footage (1,365 sf) and balcony size. The four non-end units are larger (1,430 SF) with the largest balconies (10′ x 47′).
The units on the street facing side are one bedroom, 1.5 bath units with smaller balconies. There are six one-bedroom units on each floor from the 2nd through the 5th floor.
The 6th floor houses the Penthouse, the community room, and the storage lockers for each unit. Many units have laundry facilities, but there are coin-op washer and dryers on each floor.
The two bedroom units (non-end units) have A, B, N, or P after the unit number. The two bedroom corner unit with M after the unit number has the best water views of the corner units, followed by L and C, and D only has views of the park, no water views. The one bedroom units all face the street, but K and J have limited water views from their balconies, whereas E, F, G, and H are closer to the park.
Pets are allowed. Individual in-wall heat pump/air conditioning units are found in each room. There is no central heat source. The units are powered by electricity.
This is a gated community. The number of reserved parking spaces varies with each unit, depending upon how many the previous owner had purchased. Some parking units are located under the building and thus are covered, whereas others are in the open.
The combination of doorman building, elevators, and ranch style units make the units accessible to people in wheelchairs and desirable for those who wish to age in place.
